Secure your accounts

The accounts an ex may still hold keys to, in the order I would do them.

These are the accounts someone who shared your life could still get into. Not because you think your ex is a villain - most people are not reading anyone's email - but because "probably is not" and "cannot" are different things, and only one of them is yours to fix.

Work down the list in order. The first four carry the most weight: your email, your phone account, Apple or Google, and the bank. Get those finished properly and the rest can wait for the evenings you have something left in you.

The list, in order (15 steps)

1. Start with your main email
2. Close the back door on that inbox
3. Lock the phone account
4. Your Apple ID and Google Account
5. Two-factor, and the number it points at
6. Banking, super and the alerts
7. The password you have used everywhere
8. Move your side of the cloud
9. Find My and location sharing
10. Shared subscriptions and the cards on them
11. Apple Family Sharing and Google Family
12. The devices still signed in
13. The router
14. Doorbell cameras, speakers and thermostats
15. A clean address for the legal side
